    Frame-accurate video review

Clients can now pause a video and comment on the exact frame they're looking at. Each comment appears as a marker on the timeline, so editors can jump straight to the moment it's about.

Comments are stored by frame, not by time, so they land in the same place in every browser – including phone footage with a variable frame rate.

    • Click the timeline or press C while paused to comment
    • Markers show who commented and whether the note is resolved
    • Works on every plan from Studio up

Video review was our most requested feature. Thank you to everyone who asked, and to the agencies who tested it early.

    Smarter approval reminders

Approval reminders now follow the client's calendar. They skip weekends and public holidays in the client's country, so a reminder never lands on Christmas Day.

Reminders also stop as soon as the approver opens the version, rather than waiting for an approval. Someone who is reading doesn't need a nudge – and getting one while reviewing felt pushy.

You can still change the schedule per portal. The default stays at 2, 4 and 7 days after a version is shared.

    Two-way Xero sync

Invoices created in Ferrybox now appear in Xero, and payments recorded in either place sync to the other. Partial payments and credit notes are supported.

You can map tracking categories per project, so profitability reports in Xero line up with your client work.

Connect Xero in Settings → Billing. The sync starts from a date you choose, so existing invoices won't be duplicated. Available on Agency and Enterprise.

    Bulk upload with automatic versioning

You can now drop a whole folder onto a portal. Ferrybox matches each file to an existing deliverable by name and adds it as the next version; files without a match become new deliverables.

Before anything is published, you see a summary of what will happen and can change any match. Nothing reaches the client until you confirm.

We also made single-file uploads faster: large files now upload in parallel chunks and resume if the connection drops.

Fixes for PDF comments on rotated pages

Comments on PDFs with rotated pages, or with pages of different sizes in one document, could appear in the wrong place after a reload. That's fixed.

Existing comments have been moved back to where they were made. If you see a comment that still looks out of place, reply to it and we'll take a look.

Thanks to the agencies who reported this with examples – it made the fix much quicker.

    Approval certificates

Every approved deliverable now has an approval certificate: a one-page PDF with the deliverable, the version, who approved it and when, and a thumbnail of what was approved.

Agencies told us they were taking screenshots of approvals to attach to invoices and send to clients' legal teams. Now it's one click from the deliverable menu.

Certificates are available on Agency and Enterprise plans.

Send portal emails from your domain

Portal notifications can now come from your own domain – for example, projects@youragency.com – instead of a Ferrybox address.

A guided flow in Settings → Email shows the DNS records to add and checks them for you. Until they're verified, emails keep going from the Ferrybox address, so nothing breaks while you wait for DNS.

Clients see your agency's name in their inbox, which makes notifications more likely to be opened. Available on Agency and Enterprise.

    Portals load twice as fast

We rebuilt the file grid in portals. Projects with thousands of files now open in under a second, and scrolling stays smooth however large the project gets.

The grid now loads thumbnails as you scroll, and remembers your sort order and view per portal.

Most of the improvement comes from loading less: the old grid fetched details for every file up front, and the new one fetches them only when they're needed.

    Comments on live URLs

You can now add a staging URL to a portal, and clients can comment directly on the page. Comments are pinned to the element they clicked, with the browser and viewport size recorded.

There's nothing to install for the client and nothing to add to your site. The page loads inside the portal with a comment layer on top.

This works with most staging setups. If your site blocks framing, the setup screen explains the one header to change.

Magic links that respect your security policy

Workspace admins can now set how long magic links stay valid, from one hour to 30 days. The default stays at seven days.

We also fixed a bug that made links expire up to a day early for clients in time zones ahead of UTC+12. If your clients in New Zealand or Samoa had to ask for new links, this was why – sorry about that.
